With illustrations of architecture and designs, interior design, furniture design, textile designs, posters, etc. Mackintosh was together with his wife Margaret Macdonald-Mackintosh and their sister and James H. McNair founder of the group "The Four", which in turn has great influence the Glasgow School. At the end of the 19th century he was one of the leading exponents of the Art Nouveau movement and gave important impulses to modern design. Through his participation in the exhibition of the Vienna Secession 1900 he became internationally known.
